Description
Sweet orange, as with most citrus, is a hybrid of two other citrus species, pomelo (Citrus maxima) and mandarin (Citrus reticulata). The orange tree is the most cultivated fruit tree in the world, and accounted for 70% of citrus production worldwide in 2012. We know you know what oranges are, so here is a list of some of our favourite orange things: Doritos Tangy Cheese, the sun, Soleros (remember those?), traffic cones, the Weasley’s and the hot-rod flames on Guy Fieri’s signature shirt. Orange combines well with flavours such as banana, cacao nibs, cinnamon, coffee, ginger, lemon, pineapple, vanilla… need we say more? It’s one of our absolute favourites, particularly as a top note with pineapple, a touch of ginger and a dash of cinnamon.
