Description

Did you know that, by weight, cardamom is the third-most expensive spice in the world? It’s only surpassed by vanilla and saffron. Cardamom was reportedly first referenced in Sumer, the earliest civilisation known to have existed in the southern region of ancient Mesopotamia. Cardamom has a unique flavour that is hard to describe. All at the same time it is citrusy, spicy, herbal and with a freshness about it that is reminiscent of mint. It is hard to describe the fragrance of this little green gem without doing it a genuine disservice. Cardamom’s unique flavour lends itself wonderfully to uses in both sweet and savoury dishes around the world so at TCSCo. we encourage you to try it in order to add extra complexity to your spirit. We particularly enjoy the combination of cardamom, black cardamom, coffee and vanilla. It also pairs well with cinnamon and ginger if you fancied a blend that is a little more vibrant.
