However, the conventional bananas that we all know and love tend to belong to the genus, ‘Musa’. Bananas from this genus hail from Australia and much of South/ Southeast Asia. It is reported that domestication of the fruit first took place in Papua New Guinea, nowadays, the fruit is grown in upwards of 130 countries.
